The Boathouse first came into operation in 1998 when local developer Rod Davis saw an opening in the boutique accommodation market. People were beginning to steer away from the larger resorts and were looking for a more cosmopolitan accommodation base, a short stroll from restaurants and bars and shopping. Rod went on to a short, but well documented career in local politics and the property was purchased by its current owner who set about strata titling each apartment for future residential sale.
